KAYLA ROTHMAN-ZECHER

Kayla is the Director of Programs at the Alliance, overseeing programs across four practice areas including, human trafficking, environmental crimes, banking and atrocity crimes, and investigation and litigation in countries including, Cambodia, Brazil, Sudan, Uganda, Ukraine, UK and the US. Kayla has over a decade of experience working with non-profits around the world both through non-profit management and as an attorney working on strategic litigation, international human rights law, and transitional justice. Kayla’s work has focused on human trafficking, sexual and gender-based violence (“SGBV”), gender in international law, and international refugee law. She is a recipient of fellowships at the Harvard Immigration & Refugee Clinic as well as the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies at UC Hastings in San Francisco. Kayla has lectured at numerous universities and law schools and has written on topics including gender in international law and rape as a weapon of war. Her work has been published in academic journals including the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender.
