Emily Schaeffer Omer-Man has two decades of experience defending Palestinian human rights. Emily is an expert in International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, and International Criminal Law, particularly as applied to situations of occupation and the obligations of businesses. She is passionate about combining the practice of law with teaching and expanding the cadre of talented human rights lawyers and practitioners. Prior to founding Global Echo Litigation Center in 2018, she litigated landmark cases before the Israeli Supreme Court and advised Yesh Din, Breaking the Silence, Al-Haq, Human Rights Watch, et al. at the Michael Sfard Law Office in Tel Aviv. She was called as an expert to the UN Security Council, UN Committee on Palestine, and Russell Tribunal on Palestine. She is an adjunct professor of human rights at American University.
